A Sample from my new book: A Tale of Tragedy:

On top of that, I was beginning to realize that my mom wasn’t going to be waking back up and I was the person who gave her the medicine that did it.
I. Gave. It. To. Her.
I was the one who gave her the dose of medicine that put her to sleep that she was never going to wake up from.
I had done nothing wrong. But my head, heart, and conscience didn’t care, I am the one who did it.
She wasn’t going to be waking back up. If I had known, I would have spent a few extra minutes talking to her. Hugged her a few minutes longer. Said I love you a few more times. I would have done things differently.
They said we would have 2 weeks, and while we didn’t think we would get two weeks, I thought we would get more than 24 hours. I didn’t even consider the fact that she would get that medicine one time and go to sleep…forever.
We continued to give her the medicine every 3 hours. Each time I died a little more inside, knowing she was never gonna wake up.
