I have had a lot of job titles over the course of my life. Taxi driver. Personal chef. Baker. Doctor. Proof reader. Homework checker. Dictionary. Encyclopedia. Advice giver. Maid. Seamstress. Boo boo kisser. Storyteller. Fortune teller. Personal shopper. Warden. Probation officer. Judge. Mediator. Referee. Sporting coach. Photographer. Speech giver. Audience member. Goldfish flusher. Hamster burier. Monopoly game banker. Play-date planner. Hair dresser. And the worse by far was the human handkerchief my kids used me as.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, with a concentration in Latin American Studies from APUS. So I added college degree holder and college graduate to my titles. I was in the middle of getting my Master’s degree when I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2013. So I added more job titles to my growing list. Survivor. Warrior. Fighter. I have not and will not give up fighting. I am far more stubborn than the disease and it chose the wrong girl when it picked me ;).
But the most important titles that I have ever had are wife and mother.
I write what my imagination spawns. I spend all day working through plots, character development, and how I can make it better. Then I edit it. Then I start again. How can I make it better? It is a viscous cycle. I believe it can always be better.
Family night and date night are important in our house. Our favorite thing to do is what cheesy movies of natural disasters that almost end life on planet Earth, but at the last minute is saved by the person no one wanted to listen to in the first place. Then we end our night with movies of some super predator animal (shark, crocodile, alien insects). Again, it has to be cheesy to make it on our list. Asylum movies are our favorite.
Brad and I have been together since high school and we have 3 kids; Joshua, Kennedy, Brooklyn. I have a Maine Coon Cat; Mr. Biscuits and an Old English Bulldog; Ruger. (Both of which I smuggled into the house when Brad was not home.) That is all Brad will let me have at the moment.
A few more things about me. I collect anything Michael Myers or Jason Vorhees. I love horror movies and I am deathly scared of any waves over 1 foot high.
I have a particular set of skills: I can trip over flat ground, run into walls that have been there for years, and fall up the stairs.
I annoy my husband and kids by makin Tiktoks.
I have been working on both my and Brad’s family tree for over 2o years.
My favorite authors are Jude Deveraux, Dean Koontz, and I love ugly things that no one else wants to wear. The uglier, the better. If it sparkles, light’s up, glows in the dark or is blinged out….I buy it.
